Minus Zero Festival was an incredible experience. No other festival besides Burning Man puts quite the extreme pressure on the participant to survive. And survive we did under snow filled evenings of magical delight. We got “Tipped” at Tipper melted for Liquid Stranger and fell in love under the lights of Odesza. Rezz’s spinning glasses had a special glow through the flurry of snow and Zed’s Dead caused the crowd to go absolutely wild under the bursting of fireworks above.
Safe to say the weekend was stupendous. The new location was premium with a lodge that fulfilled all necessary needs involving food, spirits and much-needed warmth. The Barn stage was a real bonus keeping dancing kids warm with beats by Claude Von Stroke along with Walker and Royce.
Highlights included fire spinning extravaganza by the amazing ladies of HIVE. The fireplace outside of the lodge where I sat for a good while meeting new friends and keeping warm. That perfect moment when the cabin mates all come in at different times to reconcile the evenings’ events smiling ear to ear.
Exceeding all expectations, I know that I will be back again next year to attend Minus Zero aka the coldest festival on the East Coast. Bring your warmest coats, your highest boots and be prepared to party in the snow. Whoever dreamed this one up is a genius because it’s a beautiful festival where you are pushed to prepare more than normal and look out for each other on a survival level.
Thank you Minus Zero for the amazing memories. Check out our album of photos from the show from Sarah Kampe who captured the true essence of the festival!
