Shambhala Launches “The Greater Good Contest”
Shambhala Music Festival is proud to announce, “The Greater Good Contest,” open to all Shambhala 2017 attendees who want to make a positive impact in their communities. Shambhala will be awarding a total of $15,000 split between prize-winners to donate to a charity close to their hearts.
Shambhala has supported many Kootenay community projects over the years: The Nelson Skatepark, Kootenay Lake Hospital’s CT scanner purchase, the renovation of the performance space at Selkirk College 10th Street Campus–now Shambhala Music and Performance Hall, and most recently, the “Room to Live” campaign to end homelessness in Nelson, BC.
Now Shambhala is giving attendees the opportunity make a sizeable donation to a cause they care about.
Every year, Shambhala attendees make fun and thoughtful contributions to the overall Shambhala experience. Some make grilled cheese sandwiches for all their camp neighbours, others organize a costume day, or offer free massages. Shambhala attendees continue to make Shambhala the special experience it is for everyone.
But the Greater Good doesn’t stop there. Many of Shambhala’s attendees make contributions abroad, volunteer in their communities and more. To celebrate Shambhala’s 20th anniversary, we’d like to reward those who go above and beyond to do good.
1st Place = $10,000 to donate to a registered charity (or charities) of their choice.
2nd Place = $3,000 to donate to a registered charity of their choice.
3rd Place = $2,000 to donate to a registered charity of their choice.
Details on how to enter the contest can be found on the Shambhala website.
