Like yin & yang, Bamboo Bass Festival perfectly combines mother nature, in all of her glory, with the mind blowing capacities of technology; spiraling balls of fire twirled around gods and goddesses on stage, amidst a canopy of countless tropical species that seem to go on forever as you gaze up toward the sky. Aerial performers danced down the zip-line in front of the main stage, while neon lights created tribal patterns on the insane, hand-crafted, bamboo structure that was La Selva. Sculptures and murals surrounded the glowing lotus flower, the second stage, La Brisa. PK Sound provided the delicious, heavy bass that turned this jungle the fuck up.
This intimate, 2-stage, second-year festival has changed the scene for bass music. The first festival in a location like this one. Jaco Ropes Adventure Park, an entire park that is solely experienced through the tree-tops of a zip-line course becomes a bangin’ 3-day festival. Featuring international headliners Ekali, Falcons, Mala, Space Jesus, ill-ēsha and many more.. Not to mention an EPIC ill.gates VS KJ Sawka B2B set, and an entire night of Sleeveless Records takeover feat. TRUTH, BUKU, Stylust Beats, Conrank, Shlump, Perkulat0r, and more on Saturday night. Shout out to Smoke Siignals for running the ship at La Selva! A plethora of local and international emerging artists joined the lineup: AfroQBen, VNDMG, Emotionz, Abstrakt Sonance, Moonchild, Psy-Fi, Sam Klass, just to name a few..
We don’t know how they found this location, but we’re sure glad they did. Already making waves on only their second year, we can’t wait to see what the jungle gives us in 2018.
