THE AMPHITHEATREThe AMPhitheatre is back for Shambhala 2016 with a full clip of producers from the furthest reaches of the globe. From Perth to Prince Edward Island, expect original music directly from the hands and minds that created it. Witness legends alongside the freshest, newest, up-and-coming producers in the world. Warm up with sets from Alix Perez and EPROM separately before they team up for their finale as Shades – bass music’s newest superpower. This year, we have dedicated a full night to a spectrum of sounds straight from the UK. Croydon’s premier tastemaker Plastician and the garage gamut of Flava D, DJ Q and Sorrow will have you bouncing til sunrise. European super-producers and Shambhala first-timers TroyBoi, Sam Gellaitry and Stwo will absolutely crush all expectations of what hybrid hip hop, RnB, and club music have become. We’ve also assembled a cast of the finest Saturaterecords artists in what may be the weirdest and dirtiest daytime show ever witnessed. Imported hybrid bass from Hamburg, Shanghai, California and beyond! Finally, Low End Theory don THE GASLAMP KILLER will be gracing us with his absolutely unmatched take on musical selection and presentation. So much more than just a DJ, this man is not to be missed! THE VILLAGEThe Village Stage is thrilled to announce the full line-up for the 19th edition of Shambhala Music Festival! We feel this is one of our stage’s best line-ups yet, with heavyweights such as ANDY C, Caspa & Rusko, and Sub Focus ready to rip the roof off, to Roni Size and KRUST throwing it back to the old school with Dynamite MC and their Full Cycle sound. We’ve got the regulars you’ve come to know and love, alongside some fresh new flavors from acts like Ephwurd, Snails, and Keys N Krates. In addition to some of our favorite hip hop from Omar LinX and Chali 2na, some amazing up and comers, and a bit of everything in between – there is something on this line-up for everyone! We can’t wait for August to arrive and for all of the amazing talent (the artists and of course you, the fans) to join us in our Village wonderland for Shambhala 2016. We hope you are all ready to nub nub with the wub wub in our home away from home! THE GROVEThe Grove and all your favourite gnomies are pleased to present our music and performance line up for Shambhala 2016 ! This year we dive into many musical realms with taste from around the globe. We welcome Australian electronic hip hop duo Hermitude to kick off the weekend, followed by one of South London’s most unique and versatile producers, TroyBoi – both guaranteed to make the place shake! We’re also getting funked up with more live shows like The Russ Liquid Test, Late Night Radio, and the return of Five Alarm Funk! Magic will be created with the lush sounds of XXYYXX, Emancipator, SHIGETO and many more. While Om Unit, Danny Scrilla, Thelem, and both members of TRUTH dedicate night to the deep end. Needless to say – We’re looking forward to another bright year! See you in August. FRACTAL FORESTFractal Forest and Team Fractal are pleased to announce our full 2016 artist roster at the 19th annual Shambhala Music Festival. We are proud to announce that Questlove, renowned producer and member of the Legendary group The Roots, will be joining us in the Forest this summer. Also gracing our stage are Green Velvet , Cut Chemist, Z Trip, OPIUO, Ghastly and Felix Da Housecat… On top of that, we’ve got loads more topnotch headliners and turntablists from around the world bringing you a healthy mix of breaks, house, glitch hop, hip hop, funk and D’n’B. Please join us on this epic flight through the cosmos and experience The Funkiest Show On Earth. We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces when you return home this summer… See you soon! THE LIVING ROOMThis year marks 15 years of the The Pride’s residency in curating The Living Room Stage at Shambhala Music Festival. We are beyond excited to have one of our favourite artists of all time – Warp Records’ Nightmares On Wax from Spain join us on the turntables, at one of the most relaxing stages the world has ever known. Portugal’s Branko, head of ENCHUFADA records will be making his western Canadian debut in the Living Room, bringing that uniquely South American carnival / BURAKA SOM SISTEMA sound to the banks of the Salmo River. On top of that, we have a very unique live performance of “Back Porch Electro Blues” and “Space-Cowboy Swamptronica” from California’s Dirtwire – David Satori of Beats Antique’s new project. The California contingent continues to represent with essential west coast favourites El Papachango, DJ Sabo, an-ten-nae of Dimond Saints, Laura Low and Only Now (Kush Arora) each making returning visits to the Living Room. The double X chromosome is also fully represented this year, a portion of the programming showcasing the talents of acts like The Librarian, Mandai of Lighta Sound, & all the ladies of Meow Mix – just to name a few…And as we do in the Living Room, we ensure that respect is paid to the local Kootenay artists who were integral to the foundation of Shambhala, while also giving a nod to the pioneers of the west coast underground – like Tyler Stadius, Dj Czech, & DJ Foxy Moron. As usual the night time stage will be lit up by some of the best longest standing VJ’s in western Canada with a fully upgraded projector for some mind blowing visuals. And our aerialist performances throughout the weekend will be next level! So do yourself a favour this summer at Shambhala 2016, and cruise down to the beach to grab yourself a refreshing treat. Dip your feet in the river, kick back and relax in one the most serene festival environments, while taking in the smoothest beats you’ll ever feel and hear! THE PAGODAShambhala’s very own Pagoda Stage is proud to present its stacked 2016 lineup! We have wanted to host Boys Noize for years – head of BoysNoize Records in Germany and comprising half of collaborative project Dogblood, alongside Skrillex – his unique style of analog gritty techno is prefect for late nights at The Pagoda. What So Not was one of the most talked about sets at Shambhala Music Festival 2 years ago and we couldn’t be more excited to have him back. Bass and trap has evolved so much in the past year, spawning a new arsenal of amazing artists, and we are lucky to have many of them at the Pagoda this year! The mysterious marshmello, whose identity is hidden behind an electronically automated marshmallow mask, is making waves with his heavy bass and amazingly catchy synth riffs. Getter, Mija, The M Machine, and Holy Ship (HARD) boss man DESTRUCTO are all returning to Salmo, to tear the roof off the Pagoda. REZZ is also a force to watch out for – at 21 years old, she is just old enough to get into her own sold out shows across the USA without an escort. Her beats are raw and MASSIVE, catching the ear of labels like OWSLA and Mau5trap. Of course, The Pagoda wouldn’t be The Pagoda without the dirtiest bird, our house staple, Justin Martin – who is back again. His new album “Hello, Clouds” is a masterpiece and we can’t wait to hear it BOOM on our oversized PK rig. Gorgon City, Hotel Garuda, Nora En Pure, TEEMID and Chris Lorenzo will also be on hand, offering some of the highest quality modern house music. Amine Edge & DANCE will bring the G House vibes, and SNBRN will pump the more bangin’ end of he tropical spectrum. If you want good house we have you covered – Pagoda will be BUMPIN’ with it! On top of this, add 3 full live acts! Beats Antique Live will blow everyone’s mind with their carnival-flavoured bass grooves. London based AlunaGeorge is an incredible duo with soulful, sugarcoated live vocals and we are so excited to host them for their Shambhala debut. Finally, Autograf’s live set, featuring super tight production alongside live instrumentation, will literally melt your mind! EVeryman from LA will also be in the house, presenting a tribute to our man Pumpkin that will hit very close to the heart – RIP Pumpkin… All of this, and so much more amazing music from regional and national artists, rounds out one of our most exciting and forward-thinking lineups to date. We are literally counting the days until we see your shining faces at The Pagoda Stage at Shambhala 2016. INTRODUCING THEME CAMPS!This year, we will be accepting applications for Theme Camps! They’ll be online Wednesday, April 20th. Click here to read full details. |
