Our favorite little NorCal festival in the redwoods is back! Northern Nights Music Festival returns to Cook’s Valley Campground this July 15-17 for its fourth outing on the Eel River.
Yesterday, Northern Nights released their Phase 1 lineup, and it’s simply stellar. GRiZ, Amon Tobin, Claptone, and more headline a unique, superb cast, accompanied by the likes of hip-hop all-stars The Coup, LA house music DJ SNBRN, the amazing Machinedrum, and more. Time and time again, Northern Nights books very polished, very exciting, and very UNIQUE lineups, and this first batch of artists for 2016 proves no different. My favorite thing about Northern Nights in particular, however, is how intimate it is. They book these unique lineups with a few huge names, but you get to see these huge names in one of the most intimate and special environments around.
Music aside, the most iconic and enticing features of Northern Nights are the Eel River (River Stage and all) and camping in the Redwood Grove. This venue is magnificently beautiful, and provides one of the best imaginable camping experiences for festival-goers, with natural redwood shade and a swimming hole. You just don’t get that kind of natural luxury at other festivals! Northern Nights is special, and we’re excited. You should be too.
Until then, check out our recap of Northern Nights 2015!
